The latest United Nations Environment Programme report indicates that the cost of renewables continues decreasing. The average cost of solar power in the US has decreased by 82% and wind power by 61% compared to 2009. On a global scale however the average cost of megawatts from photovoltaic energy was set at 122 dollars in … Read more
The latest United Nations Environment Programme report points out the US as the country that invested the most in green energy in 2015, with around 44 billion dollars, a 19% growth over 2014. Post-tsunami Japan follows closely, with 36 billion dollars invested, which equals its 2014 investment. Unfortunately, Europe’s investments on green energy keeps decreasing, … Read more
The latest United Nations Environment Programme report highlights wind as the global favorite source of energy, with 64 new gigawatts installed in 2015. This leading position is due to the unexpected investment promoted by both China and USA in 2015. China has installed 30 gigawatts worth of wind farms, followed by the US with 8.6 … Read more
The latest United Nations Environment Programme report highlights the increasingly important role played by emerging countries concerning investments on renewables: in 2015, emerging countries have, for the first time, invested 156 billion dollars (+19% compared to 2014), against 130 billions from developed countries. Specifically, China alone invested 103 billion dollars, a 17% increase compared to … Read more
WOOD FOR BEAUTY Enessere, in northeastern Italy, specializes in making a small wind turbine that is both aesthetically pleasing and effective in generating electricity. The Hercules Wind Turbine is just nine meters tall and consists of a stainless steel structure that supports spiraling wooden-layered blades of American cedar. It emits a maximum of 38 decibels at gusts of 12 meters per second. “There … Read more
The latest Legambiente report states that photovoltaic panels produce 8.1% of the energy that Italy requires. Even though the number of new installations has decreased, Italy, followed by Greece and Germany, cements its status as leading country in Europe for the impact that solar energy has over the supply needs of 9.1 million Italian families. … Read more
Fig.1 – The golden section or Divine section is the process of dividing a segment so that the ratio between the smaller section (l: C-B), and the bigger section (x: A-C), is equal to the one between the bigger section (x: A-C) and the total section (A-B). x/l = AB/x Fig.2 – The golden rectangle … Read more
Caterpillar Radio 2 presents “The Energy Saving Day” (M’illumino di Meno), the largest radio campaign to raise awareness on energy saving. ENESSERE is joining to the campaign.
