In 2013, energy efficiency, waste reduction and especially the contraction of industrial production has resulted in a decrease in the energy demand in our country.

As a result, last year electricity production dropped to 10.4 billion kilowatts, with the positive effect that 40% of the energy thus produced (277 billion kWh) and about 37% (296 billion kilowatt-hours) of the energy used was generated from renewable sources.

The double effect, lower industrial production and increase in clean energy in Italy has reduced carbon dioxide emissions significantly.

Also the price of the kilowatt-hour has been affected in a favourable way, with a reduction of 16% from one year to the next. In fact, in 2012 the average wholesale price of the kilowatt-hour on the market was 78 euro per thousand kilowatt-hours whilst last year instead it fell to 65 Euros.

The clean energy sources in Italy, in 2013, climbed to 108.8 billon kW hours against 166.7 billion kilowatt-hours produced by thermal power plants, an increase of 9.5 billion kilowatt-hours compared to 2012, with a peak output generated from biomass such as wood, agricultural waste and food waste.

ENESSERE also contributes positively to this scenario, favouring the production of green energy every time we install a Hercules Wind Generator or where we offer one of our solutions to create energy independence!
