The Sistema Ollignan Onlus was born from the Ollignan Foundation, which was founded in 1999 on the initiative of the Aosta Valley Association of Families with Disabilities, the Institut Agricole Régional and the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta.
Located in Ollignan, a village at 700m a.s.l. in the province of Aosta, is an association generated by the desire to promote the social inclusion of people with disabilities through the performance of occupational and educational activities.
This non-profit organization manages an agricultural center for the disabled which guarantees them a job opportunity in a protected and inclusive environment, participating in the management of an organic farm, acquiring new skills and interacting with other members of the community.
Currently the cultivated area is about 3 hectares of which about 7000 square meters are planted with vegetables, potatoes, rye and maize; viticulture, beekeeping and laying hens are also practiced. Since last year, the cultivation of medicinal plants has been experimented, in particular: calendula, rosemary, sage, chamomile and lavender to obtain the essential oil necessary for the creation of a cosmetic line.
The new project of the Sistema Ollignan Onlus is the creation of a real labyrinth of vineyards with the ENESSERE wind turbine in the center.
